Age Meme: Diievera by Achiru-et-al Age Meme: Diievera by Achiru-et-al
I was looking for an age meme and found :iconnozomi-sama:'s because it was funny: [link] =D

However, as I was filing it out I realized my character's "life" didn't really start until AFTER 21 so I graciously extended it to F-ing Old.

Vera first met Xei as a damn teenager and lived in Avirest for about four years before moving out of the World of Wood with Diievaru. She has chased after knowledge, then strength, then wisdom.

Xei's Age Meme.

Vera belongs to herself and me, respectively.

Midlife crisis in your twenties?! Honey, that's what we call a quarter-life crisis. :P

Ah-ha! So that's why he suddenly turned from a he to a she! Stupid midlife crisis. (Wonder if that's gonna happen to my dad . . . ?)

I'm curious, how long does it typically take you to finish a drawing? You have so many so it's almost as if you can finish anything within a matter of hours, if so that's incredible! I always take a week for just one piece inbetween other obligations.

I really love how varied you are with your characters! I can never imagine mine old.

A drawing usually take me 3-5 hours, and to scan, edit and colour takes another 5-10 hours depending on how detailed and large it is. Some pieces take weeks or months depending on what other obligations crop up inbetween.

I used to only be able to see my characters in one age range, but after having them for almost a decade and growing older myself, seeing people get married, have kids, and meeting really awesome old folks have changed my perception of what it means to be old and what's possible at that age (just my grandparents alone were not the best example of the diversity of the elderly). Once I was able to see that the lifestyle you embody determines whether you're cranky or cheery, mobile or immobile, look younger or older than your physical "age", it was easier to see where my characters would be decades later.

Beautiful response. I wish I could favorite it to come back to again and again.

This fall my partner-in-crime and I reached 10 years of working in our universe together. Back in the beginning, it was super scandalous the first time we had a sexually free female character. Now everyone is boning whoever the hell they want whenever they damn well please. We're still working on making the character richly more diverse and multicultural. It's a fun journey seeing how everyone changes overtime.

Wow! That's a call for celebration! A decade's partnership is a very special thing. And it is a very fun journey to see how everyone changes over time on their own life path based on their choices, which is to some extent pre-set by the circumstances of their birth (and childhood traumas henceforth).
