Well, well, well...
I haven't shared anything in a while, which happens when you grow up. I've noticed a lot of you followers have gotten quiet too, as you used to leave many comments but I know the farther into adulthood you grow, the duties that fall on your shoulders increase exponentially.
I'm 8 more days away from completing my final practicum teaching at an elementary school, which I am looking forward to because a break would feel so nice even if I would also miss the kids. Anyway, graduation is almost within sight!
For those of you who've been watching me for a long while now... What's changed in your life between when you first followed me and now? Any significant life events you'd like to share?
Honestly, I've gone through five very different relationships in the span of ten years and am enjoying the single life. Raven and Vera's kids have grown up pretty quick too. SO MANY CHANGES. I haven't even gotten caught up with Ria's family yet.
Fingers are crossed that I'll actually have more stuff to update when summer rolls around the corner!

I'm sorry but I'm breaking up with you. It's been a very tough decision for me because I still think very fondly of you and all the experiences we've had together.
I remember the first time I met you. I had followed another artist I admired to this community from an oekaki paint chat board in 2004. I began sharing my original ideas and built a community here. I made lots of friends. I ran a webcomic for several years until I almost killed myself doing it. I had to detach myself from you, from my work and my old identity. I am more than an artist. I am an inspiration.

Hey I Just Met You
Hey everyone! Man it's already April~
So lots of stuff happened last month. The book sale ended and I had an art show and sold one painting. In the meantime I'm getting ready launch yet another book starring Mann and Lucky! It is titled "The House Party" and it's 255 pages long.... WHEW THAT WAS SO MUCH WORK.
If you aren't following me on Instagram or on Patreon, that's where all the story snippets have been.
I'm now going to update "Hey I Just Met You" to DeviantART on Mondays and Fridays for this month to get you caught up on their first meeting. Then I will be offering snippets of The House Party in May.
2017 February Reflection
So this past month I've finished fulfilling ALL PREORDERS ON KICKSTARTER which was a giant undertaking:
In the meantime I've gotten my graphic novel into two local independent bookstores and two local comic book shops:
Because I don't have a large publishing company behind me to do a large share of the marketing, independent stores are wary of stocking books that of course, might not sell. So they will generally consign or buy only one or two books and if they sell out, they will be confident in stocking more. I'm glad that I have a strong network to help me sell out those one or two books really fast!

I started here so many years ago and it was this community of artists and art appreciators that helped my cast family and stories grow to where they are today. I mean some of you I can still recall all your usernames and the conversations we've spawned . Like Shinerai (https://www.deviantart.com/shinerai) will forever be the designer of Callith the dragon, and Ehme (https://www.deviantart.com/ehme) helped spawn Zy the Watermelon head and Xie the murderer and all the other nicknames for these characters. kiyoshiwithpen (https://www.deviantart.com/kiyoshiwithpen) was the names

I think I followed you back in my first year of university. So I guess that graduation and then my upcoming graduation were both pretty big life events, as was all the learning that happened during and in between them, both inside the classroom and outside it. Actually I remember RAVEN really being the first work I found that really dealt with alternate gender identities, which was something I also became really interested in within the context of my sociology degree. I think for sure RAVEN influenced me some, at least in helping me understand before the concept was brought up in my class room settings.
I did always mean to let you know that but never quite got there. So i am saying it now! Thank you for RAVEN, it may not have been the only reason I became interested in gender and sex and how society has expectations for each, but it 100% set me up so that I understood those things better than I would have without it.
